All About Jones Racing
What started as a simple hobby has become a way of life.
Jones Racing was started in 1992. Sandy, an aircraft mechanic for American Airlines, had always been very interested in Motorcycles but felt he needed to be on the strip an not the street. He just couldn't seem to ride slow. So he sold his street bike and began building his first drag bike, a 1974 KZ900.

The first bike was a little rough. Sandy knew what he wanted but just wasn't sure how to get there. He received a lot of help and suggestions from people at the track and with that and his own knowledge built a good running ET bike.

Not long after his wife, Donna, decided that she wanted to do more that be just a pit crew and a bike was bought for her. Her bike was a Yamaha SR500. Even though Sandy was a Kawasaki Man at heart he thought it would be the better bike for Donna because of the size. She raced it for a little while but then made the mistake of allowing their son, Nick to make some passes. He did so well she reliquished her ride to him.

Nick was only 13 when he started to race. Even though he is only 20 now he is a very seasoned rider. He has made several steps up on different bikes and has become a very competitive racer. His Dad always jokes and says " I raised my own hired gun".

NICK JONES - 1999 PMRA SUPER GAS CHAMPION
Nick Jones proved to everyone in the 1999 season that he was the Man is PMRA Super Gas. Nick won the first 4 out 5 PMRA races of 1999. Facing some very fierce and tough competition. Nick won the first of these races the day after he graduated from High school. It was an awesome season.

NICK JONES 2002 PMRA TOP GAS CHAMPION
Nick Jones took the PMRA Top Gas field by storm winning 3 out of 6 races and runner up at 2 of the remaining 3 races. Jones Racing was very pleased with their performance this year with the Kawasaki Alcohol Fuel Injected Turbo bike. Once again the ingenuity of Sandy was shown with the bike. This bike was even given a paint job which was a first for a Jones built bike. Normally they stay black gelcoat...but this year the Top Gas bike got a great paintjob. Jones Racing is looking forward to the 2003 season and possibly moving up to a new class by 2004....have to wait and see what happens..
